What's Happening in Dolltown?
Image
Well, we've had our beautiful Books Diorama scooped for a public display in our local Country Music Hall of Fame museum building!

We couldn't resist the locking glass cabinet available, just the same size as the photo studio set up we have here in Dolltown.

So we gathered our little decorated Christmas tree, some props, and set up the diorama...complete with several Dolltowners who couldn't resist the chance to show off to the public!

But before the diorama left Dolltown for the month, we took photos of everyone in the set, since in the Hall of Fame they are behind closed glass doors.

And we got the Little Darlings dressed quickly and took their photos in the lovely diorama, too.

Christmas dresses! And rompers, stockings and shoes.
We do our best to Christmas-up the Dolltowners, even if it's just a red ribbon.
But the Little Darlings, by now, each have something Christmasy to wear...from smocked plaid, to candy canes, to red polka dots, to green and red tights. The little girls all look very festive.
And that's before ribbons and bows!
We just had time for the basics when we had to get our photo shoot done...
Now that the diorama is set up downtown, we'll have time to get out the basket of adornments so Jiyoon, Tink and Xennia, and anyone else can dress themselves up as fancy as a Christmas tree!

It's Christmasy around here!
That's what happens when we get involved with the real community, the human doings...
I got to go down to the Country Music Hall of Fame and help set up.
I kind of wanted to stay in the cabinet with the other dolls, but You-Know-Who said she needed me back in Dolltown!
Shasta is in there, and little Gabby, and Fancy Nancy...
I watched as the humans poured into the old building after the Christmas parade, and saw lots of them stop to look at the Dolltowners sitting and standing as still as can be, being their best doll selves until after the crowds were gone.
Then they played that game dolls love to play...Can you spot the difference?
Dolls know that most humans pay little attention to small changes.
And since there are over 20 Dolltowners squished into the diorama it's unlikely even YKW would notice a change.
Of course, she took photos so everyone has to do their best to return to their original places...
And you know who got the most attention that first night?
Guard One! Because the boy humans and even the older guys recognized him as Star Wars Kanan Jamarr! And they were surprised to see him with Santa Doll and the children...
So funny!
He had no idea that he was going to get so much attention. I swear he was blushing!
Unless it was those battery candles YKW put in there...
There's a photo below of what the doll diorama looks like behind the glass doors...
What is coming up next week?
The boys...have come to play with some of the Christmas decorations at the Community Centre!
Probably...the Ellowynes! How exciting! We haven't seen them for ages!
They are coming to the Community Centre!
Probably Little Darling adornments...Tink said she had on a plain old dress.
Tink! That is cute candy cane dress. Just needs a little ribbon, or sparkle, or bell!

Last week we had our Books Diorama scooped for a public display in our local Country Music Hall of Fame.
Some of the Christmas decorations from the Community Center were needed for that display, so we took photos of the Dolltowners, from boys, to babies before the props were moved out...
Our Chris Miller and Robin Woods boys played with some of the Nutcrackers...
This Community Center is going to need to be Christmas-upped again.
And we are calling on the Little Darlings to do that.
We are gathering more ornaments and garlands, stars and bells....and Nutcrackers.

Christmas is fun!
Stories, sparkles, the smell of fir and pine... There is work to be done, decorating to do, ribbons to put on.
Almost everyone is being cheerful.
Except G, who got cross with all the dollies for leaving their winter coats, and boots, and scarves trailing across his Kitchen on their way to the Wardrobe Room.
G has rules...
At least no one was put in a corner, which happened when You-Know-Who went away for a couple of days.
But G just raised his voice enough to make Xennia cry. Although it doesn't take much, as you know...
Then Priscilla got cross right back when he threw some mittens after them as they disappeared around the corner. He found the mittens in his measuring cup.
Keep G's kitchen tidy or you won't get cookies, I heard one of the dolls say. And that made Xennia cry even more.
But she stopped crying when the red ribbons came out...
And she heard the Babies were coming to play in the Community Center, while their photos were being taken.
Babies make anyone happy, right?
What else? The boys...Oh boy, I was worried. I am happy to say no Christmas decorations were destroyed. The boys were actually well behaved.
(They heard there might be cookies.)
Our Christmas Doll Diorama is still at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
But Shasta and Fancy Nancy got their photos taken before they went down to the diorama...
What is coming up next week?
The Tonner Ellowynes fashion doll group arrived at the Community Centre for a photo shoot! What dollings!
The Iples are emerging after a long rest (that Halloween party they hosted!). Although they have had night missions I hear. Disappearing after the sun goes down.
And I'm not sure if they do Christmas. Lots don't!
The Little Darling adornments have begun, bows and sparkles! The first girls are ready for their curtain call to begin their "Christmas Up" story. Stay tuned!

It's the Vintages! In Hannah wigs!
The Community Center was so busy this week with Dolltowners gathering that the Little Darlings had no time to redecorate!
Instead they were running from one side of the room to the other to avoid the bright sun accompanying the cold weather here.
They were making races out of it but Miley put a stop to that. "You are in your Christmas dresses!", she called out to them from her perch in the studio!
Mostly they chatted with the parade of dolls coming and going from the room.
And they were happy to lend Darlene and Cindy here their clothes.
Why not! They fit, sort of! Even the shoes and boots!

Here's Nellie, little Vera and Pamela...
The little girls, Vera, Lilac Moon, Oiya, Kish and the big girls, Pamela and Nellie, are all dressed up for Christmas get togethers.

So much fun at the Community Center visiting with friends!
We posted lots of photos while we had a chance!

We love to see the Disney Princesses in some of the cute clothes made for them from Etsy.

And the Vintage Dee an Cee girls, Cindy and Darlene have borrowed Little Darling clothes for the occasion.
I cannot believe they can wear some of the same things!
The Monster High girls will have to wait for a change of clothes. We just noticed today that people actually make clothes for the little string beans. Oh, sorry girls! I mean that in the nicest way!
How do you change the clothes of dolls made out of toothpick thin plastic?
I guess one day we will just have to experiment! Maybe dress them in the fingers of a pair of gloves. No?

Our Christmas Doll Diorama is still downtown at the Country Music Hall of Fame (with Santa!...shhh).
But there are still lots of Dolltowners here at the Community Center!
Disney Princesses, Vintage girls, Monster Highs, and some of the little girls...
And the Ellowynes did show up, along with Tonner guys Eddie, Wiz and Knox.
A couple of Ellowynes didn't make it. They stayed in the City for business meetings and wouldn't risk the snowy roads.
Yelena said if they could have used doll-carrying drones, for the trip, she would have considered coming.
If Amazon can do it, she said...
Sure Yelena, Uber Drones, for dolls! Someday maybe!
The Ellowynes looked beautiful! And the guys looked good, too.
Goldie in that blue dress, and Knox looking so cool...
We are not so sure about Willow in the fluffy curly wig though. I hear Willow passed it on to Gabby, and went back to her smooth golden do...
And the Little Darlings are getting so excited!
Jiyoon is waiting for them all in the Dolltown Library, with ribbons and bows.
Zoey and Pearl showed up and started decorating there! They couldn't even wait until everyone cleared out of the Community Center. They put up garlands in the library, balancing on a wicker chair!
You-Know-Who may regret she told them they could decorate the CC. I just imagine a lot of chaos. What if Tink discovers the glitter jars? Or what if Lula decides to climb the Christmas tree? Like she did last year in Australia?
I better not think about it....
I am going to go to the kitchen and see if there are any butter tarts!
What is coming up next week?
The Iples are emerging...and getting dressed! Aira is all in pink! Asa heard she received the first present, so she is here with us right now! She threw on her black satin robe and is wearing YKW's coral garnet pendant. How festive!

What's Happening in Dolltown?

The little girls gathered and opened a bag of gifties. Their babysitters kept a watch over them to be sure they shared!
The Little Darlings got to dress themselves in ribbons, then headed over to the Community Center, where they came, in two's and threes, to decorate the Christmas tree there.
Well, it had a few decorations already. But they had to come off, because I promised them they could do it all by themselves!
I took lots of photos and enjoyed the story myself, because we used favorite decorations from over the years.
And it made me think of all the fun I have had with my own kids, now scattered far afield.
Sol will arrive before the week is done. Celebrate!
I'll clear a bed for him. Every flat surface attracts dolls and their clothes and props.
But the other two I hope will enjoy a blessed Christmas where they are.
Each has their doll doppelganger here in Dolltown.
Well, Maggie is visiting London right now, actually.
And I am hoping Tasya's cat will not think Maggie is a Christmas treat!
But Little Darling Lula is here with us this year, after spending last Christmas with Lani in Tasmania!
Lula gathered two special ornaments for the tree...

The Little Darlings had a lot of fun getting ready for Christmas celebrations!

They were dressed early for photos, before the special Christmas Diorama was set up downtown.

But they didn't have a chance to fancy up! No ribbons or bows!

So, after a couple of weeks of waiting, the girls were finally able to choose from a bunch of satin ribbons, candy waist bands (not real candy!) and a whole bowl of lace from a dear friend.

My friend thought I would sew with them, add them to the hem of a doll dress perhaps.
Instead I saw an opportunity, and put the rolls of lace out for the girls, and sure enough, they cut them into head bands and made them into peplums...even Vikka!

Tink and Xennia are feeling very fine now. Even my Christmas earrings, I notice!
Much better with lots of adornment. Right, girls?

Happy little things. We'll teach them about fashion another day...perhaps.
You can see Rosa in the background. She's wearing a simple red bauble over her ear, but she has a special sparkled wand in her hand, ready for some Christmas magic in our story...

It was a week of Christmas fun in Dolltown!
Lots of Dolltowners came for a Christmas get together and photos last week. So this week the girls took over the Community Center.
The little girls opened a Christmas bag filled with toys and decorations under the watchful eyes of Guard One and Silent Sam.
Then the Little Darlings took over. after putting on their ribbons and bows. And lace! Aunty Maryann gifted us with a bowl full of pretty lace and the girls went to town.
Jiyoon added lace to her waist to make pretty peplum, and Tink copied her.  Xennia added lace to her hair, tying it in a bow. And Tink and Xennia added Christmas earrings to their hair adornments. Very festive, girls!
Even Vikka got into the adornments, and added lace herself!
Then the little Community Centre Christmas Tree was redecorated by the Little Darlings!
Rosa, our Christmas girl this year, worked her magic, so the girls could start fresh...and all the Little Darlings came to decorate.
They were each allowed to choose one decoration. But by the time they were done, the tree looked very pretty!
All the photos are done but only half the story is posted. You'll have to come back for the rest!
Now the girls settle down to wait for packages to arrive...
How exciting!
They've heard there is a special parcel coming...just for them!
(And it isn't from You-Know-Who!)
What else is happening in Dolltown?
Our Christmas Doll Diorama is still downtown at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Our last week! Maybe we can make it into a snowy January diorama!
Most of the Dolltowners, except for the Little Darlings and a few others, have moved on to the Dolltown Cinema, where they have watched Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Now they all want to float!
Next the older dolls want to watch Love Actually, but the boys and the little ones want to see The Grinch!
Let's see who wins!
Photo after photo...YKW posted over 70 photos in one post!
Call the Guinness Book of Records!
Even G is watching the photo shoots, giving his valuable advice like..."Why don't you hang one from the ceiling with fishing line, so..."  etc etc etc.
Speaking of G, I have had so many butter tarts that I'll have to borrow a dress from the Terri Lee's!
Hey, Tamla!
What is coming up next week?
The rest of our story... Little Darlings Decorate the Christmas Tree
The Iples, I hope! Odelle is sitting right in front of me, all dressed in red and green.
But no photos posted yet! Again!
You-Know-Who has to get down to business here in Dolltown and quit spending so much time with her humans! That's my opinion...
I don't want the Iples to retreat to Dolltown Abbey from neglect.
I love watching their sad little faces. They are so pretty...even the boys!
But definitely this week will be all about presents, love, and treats. It's Christmas!
The photos posted this week...
Tonner Agnes Dreary, our Vikka choosing ribbons
And a nice long Xmas post with Rosa, Pearl, Zoey, Scout, Evie, and Lula!
And, no photos thank goodness, but there's YKW getting all emotional about her Christmas ornaments, Lula, her kids, all of us.... Yup. Let's go give her a hug, kids!
Humans say that's all they need at Christmas.
Well, and Skype calls and turkey.

Annabelle Doll is eight years old-she has been for more than a hundred years. Not a lot has happened to her, cooped up in the dollhouse, with the same doll family, day after day, year after year. . . until one day the Funcrafts move in.

The old dolls are porcelains and the new neighbours are plastic...

What's Happening in Dolltown?

Surprise parcels and envelopes from our Hiya Dolly friends!
A Christmas package from Fashion Doll Stylist! April sent a box full of gifts from Paris for the Little Darlings and their Dolltown friends.
(I had to help them eat the chocolates, and you'll see why in our story of Xennia finding the presents after her nap. Somebody had to clean up. I mean really clean up. Not doll pretend!)
We are very excited about this 3D Eiffel Tower!
We get to color it before we assemble it! Now that's a nice way to spend a part of our holiday!
I think the girls have begun already!
April, dear friend, thank you for such fun!
Now, there was decorating-the-tree left over from last week. But the photos are not "left over" They are so sweet...the Little Darlings decorating!

We also received a lovely scarf set from Pachom Suesewan, one of our best dressmakers! (Zoey on the right wears a Pachom!)
Thanks Pachom!
My girls love to play in the snow...and this scarf set will be put to use right away as we get ready for a Snow Day.
Even Sparkle Nutcracker wanted to wear it. He thought he would it fit very well and asked to step outside in it for a minty vape on his ecig.
No! Absolutely not! There are children here...sort of.

What's Happening in Fashion in Dolltown?

Well, the Little Darlings have had lots of attention, as have the other children, so let's show off Aira in an Iplehouse dress made for the Junior Iplehouse Dolls...
The Iplehouse clothes are a wonderful quality and fit very well!
It's chancy buying clothes for the Iples anywhere else, although I did my best for a while on eBay and Etsy.
But the coding for the bjd dolls is challenging...1/3, 1/4, msd, etc. I tried several sources, but I stopped because some didn't fit and I had to pass clothes on to other dolls. Dolls who are less shoulder-bulky, less busty...
Now I am wary. And so my bjd's make do with a slender selection of clothes.
But each of my girls has a beautiful dress to wear, even though this pink one has to be put on very carefully. Odelle is wearing a red sparkle tube dress from our 22" American Model Glamour Too. And Raven's black one in the photos doesn't up at the back. Strategic photos...
Speaking of strategic, I have added a ribbon to Aira's pretty dress because the gauze over her bust is so thin, and she is so...real.

Miley's Musings...

Well, this week, finally some of the Iples showed up and got into some Christmas fun! That fun is still going on!
And Ballet Doll and I got to hang out at the Community Center with the Iples and Sparkly Nutcracker.  And I got to wear a beautiful dress, and Arlen let me wear her most beautiful coat! She says it fits me better than it does her (an American Model Glamour Too). I hope You-Know-Who posts the photos of me soon! It was such fun!
I feel soooo special!
But the big excitement this week was the package from April filled with gifts from France!
You really must see the unboxing! It's not a video. It's done in stop motion...no, it's not! Or we would have had to make it into a whole show because it took so long.
Lots of photos were taken and the girls were just as happy as can be.
The box took up so much room in the Community Center that You-Know-Who only called a few of the girls. (Most of the ones who traveled to Paris last summer to be in an Elie Saab Couture Fashion Show. Really!)
There were biscuits and tartes and caramels and chocolat! Yum!
And a picnic basket full of picnic food, for dolls!
The basket was left, unopened, in the Community Center after everything was tidied up, and the girls left with a beautiful 3D Eiffel Tower to color. (Is that what they are doing? I haven't seen them for HOURS!) They were so excited about the 3D puzzle, they left behind the two cute bunnies Aunty April sent.
And then Xennia showed up, all by herself, after waking up from her nap.
She spied the bunnies, then the chocolat, and then...the picnic basket. And the next thing you know, there were tins and packages of food all over the rug!
Oh dear! Tink arrived...and joined her! Then Evie and Scout showed up and made them clean it all up. Of course they helped like good friends.
But last I heard, You-Know-Who was in a quandary over two problems.
She must have solved them because everything looked fine when the Iples and I arrived at the Community Center for our photos and gifts.
I just love Christmas. This year was even better than last!
This week was all about presents, love, and treats.
Next week, New Year's Celebrations!
Oh, come on YKW!
You can do it!
Just take a page from April's book, er, site!
Her girls and guys are dressed to the nines (you must go and see!), and they get to party on a baby grand piano, and drink champagne!
I wonder how many of us could fit on our red piano! Just me maybe. And a nice glass of Perrier water...
The photos posted this week...
More tree decorating! Tink, Xennia, Jiyoon, Faith, Chantal...
A little more of sweet Vikka...
Xennia wreaks havoc in the Community Center...I'm kidding! Kind of.
The Iple girls...and moi. Maybe. If YKW stays up late enough! Pleeeese!
Chat soon!
I am who I am.

Look at us! Aren't we fine?
Image
And here are the girls opening the box, with Paris gifts!
Postcards, treats, Eiffel Towers, and a special note from Miss April herself!

And from all of us to all of you!
Best wishes for a wonderful year! 2017!

A Good Read!

We brought this book on our trip!
A mystery solved by two adventurous doll friends. I like the way the author handles doll characters coming alive when the humans are asleep or absent. A doll oath...hmmmm.
We posted this read last December.
