The Start Ups are a group of twenty-somethings pursuing their life dreams, meaningful careers and fun times. Ellowynes and Tonners join together to keep each other company, inspire one another, and interact with the Dolltown community and the Others.
The Start Ups also work out of The City....
The Ellowynes at the River...they had a lot of fun.
Especially when the children went home to bed. And the stars came out.
Someone brought a bottle of wine....
See Noddy there on the right?
With Eddie and the Wiz especially.
Eddie is a...you know, a vampire. And the Wiz is, well, a wizard. As we all know...
So Eddie and the Wiz are officially a part of The Others' world here in Dolltown.
But they spend a lot of time with the Ellowyne girls. Understandably!
Here's Eddie and the Wiz, with my Ellowyne Willow. And Priscilla...
It's okay, Priscilla, relax.
Willow can handle herself, even with these two.
Agnes Dreary, our Vikka, feels like she's too old for the children. And she's a little young for the Ello's.
So she is a wanderer.
You'll find her anywhere.
But since she has the courage of a super hero and is a s fit as can be, all the dolls like to have her around.
Even if she is a little...dour.
Here we go!
So many stories with the Ellowyne's here in Dolltown, and The City!
A trip to the city, a HEAD SWITCH operation (the procedure is not actually shown here yet). And more...
Well, look who came out to play!
It's the City Ellowynes...the group of fashion and business entrepreneurs who are always meeting up with our Dolltown Ellowynes!
Now, Knox isn't anywhere in sight...which is suitable since a bath is happening. He must be close. He's always with the city girls.
The girls are getting changed, and I understand it's for another meet up here in Dolltown.
But it may be gossip... These girls act like adults, doing pretty much what they want without checking with anyone!
I'll go talk to Miley and see what she has found out. (I asked her to dig up some stories and find out what these girls are up to.)
Well, whatever they are up to next I've done my part by unpacking some fresh clothes for them.
And while Joanie finishes her bath, the rest of the girls could be changing...only a couple of them are ready!
It's the Dolltown Ellowyne's out for an evening movie!
The children have come and gone...past their bedtime!
Eesha, meets up with Wiz, and they get cozy. Then the others arrive...
Hmmm...wonder what they saw? La la Land or Moonlight?
After the movie they hung out, deciding where to go next...
Romy suggested a little dancing...
Okay kids, don't stay out too late. (You work right? Right?)
After Oksana's Yoga Classes at the Community Center, the girls picked her up on their way to the movies!
The rest of the Dolltown Ellowynes gathered and waited in the Winter Park...
Hey! Where's Eesha?
One of our Dolltown Ellowynes is missing!
We'll head over to the movie theater and see if she is there already!
These three Ellowyne girls are waiting for more of their friends to show up...
I know they have all been making plans for some kind of a Start Up. But so far we have only seen them at our Community events.
The last time we saw them on their own was when we had photos of them traveling, and gathering things for a Pop Up Shop.
Now girls, if we don't see something soon there are going to be comments like, "All talk, no action!"
At the very least, we want Oksana to start her yoga classes again. The Little Darlings refuse to change out of their yoga outfits until they get to do their New Resolutions Yoga Class.
Come on now! It's the fourth week of January already!
So, they are gone! And I was so busy capturing the photos that I missed what they were saying!
And I could swear they were murmuring. On purpose?
At one point I said, "What?" And this is the look I got. Not a word!
I have to pay more attention to my adult dolls.
They just seem to go about their own business.
We want to know what is going on!
I think I will get Miley, our Dolltown.News reporter, to follow them around for a while.
I will suggest to the Ellos that Miley could be a part of their Start Up marketing team.
That way she could help them, while gathering information...for us!
All right now, there's a plan!
It's Lissa and some of the Ellowynes at the Community Center.
They are gathering for a meeting.
But here you can see, no one is in a hurry.
Lissa has even fallen asleep reading, waiting for the others...
The beautiful Ellowynes! A few photos of the girls before the action starts.
Not sure what the meeting is about. But these girls, and their guy friends are usually up to something...
The Ellowynes have been in and out of Dolltown all summer.
The local girls have been off to the City visiting and doing business with the City girls.
And the City girls have been traveling to other countries.
(And our Willow was on the catwalk of Paris in June!)
We knew the Dolltown Ellowynes were back. But we didn't know the City gang was here too!
But they all came down to Terri's End-of-Summer Shindig!
First Eddie, Willow and Bandy brought the City group.
They had to leave early to get back to work in the morning...
Then the rest of the Dolltown Ellowynes came down to Terri's for an end-of-summer evening.
Terri had retired for the evening, and was reading stories to the children,
but she came for a visit with the Ellowynes, and their guys.
And brought Queeny too! Well...Queeny's head.
(Don't say I didn't warn you!)
And it gets a little dark! It's September!
Finally, Ernie came to escort Terri and Queeny back to the house.
The Ellowynes and their guys stayed into the night, chatting quietly and watching the full moon.
Enjoy! Relax while you can...busyness coming!
Pop Up Shop coming in Dolltown! Our City girls traveled to other destinations to hunt for upcycling possibilities. They are on the lookout in local markets for small, unique items they can box up or pop in their totes. But they keep getting distracted by things they want for themselves...shoes, jewelry, eye catching clothes!
But, hey! Let's bring those things too, Yelena says at their meet up! We can upcycle our own wardrobes at home! Add beads, satin patches, fringes!
After some vitamin water and bone broth the girls are off to fill their totes! The Dolltown girls are waiting impatiently for their return.
Eddie, Knox, and Wiz have heard the Ellowynes are getting ready for a spring fashion shoot...
They offered to help but haven't heard back.
What kind of "help" are you offering, boys?
You say you want to help...the community?
Eddie is glad the guys have only one or two changes of clothes between them.
Jeans and a tshirt...so easy to get dressed in the morning! Leaves time for more important things!
Just like that story about Mark Zuckerberg and his same tshirts...
From the Business Insider, Nov 14...
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had his first-ever public Q&A session on Thursday.
He answered a lot of questions, but the one that got a lot of interest was, “Why do you wear the same T-shirt every day?”
For those who haven’t noticed, Zuckerberg wears the same gray T-shirt at most public events. While many expected a playful response, Zuckerberg gave a pretty serious answer for his penchant to wear the same gray shirt.
"I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community," Zuckerberg said, after clarifying that he had "multiple same shirts."
I'll use it as a good reason why my boy dolls appear usually in the same garb.
Until such time as the boys get great changes of wardrobe, like the girls.
Don't hold your breath...
The Tonner Ellowyne dolls interact with all the other Dolltowners, most of the time...
Here are a few random shots of the Ellowynes with others, over the last year.
Here's Willow wearing a beautiful bright shift that we received as a bonus gift last spring. Eddie and Wiz are obviously impressed!
Priscilla, however, is feeling left out again...
No worries! The boys here grabbed her a newspaper to hold over her head!
You can be sure Priscilla appreciated the gesture.
Coming soon... The Little Darlings have borrowed the Ellowyne fancy dresses for a party! What fun! And how cute to see the little girls playing dress up!
We are working on the photos.
And the Ellowynes themselves are getting dressed for their own photo shoot, coming later in May.
Getting ready is a 2-3 day event!
2015 Winter photo shoot last year...
Bandy arrived with flat feet and stained legs.
Noddy overheard her complaining, wishing she could wear high heels like the other girls and worrying about summer and bare leg dressing...
It got Noddy thinking!
Last spring Noddy approached Bandy about switching up their bodies. We are dolls, she said! It can be done!
They had a serious talk about it at The River during the birthday picnic for Terri Lee.
The two brought it up with some of the other girls and a big discussion started.
Most of the Ellos have never had work done, so there were lots of questions and opinions!
Is it dangerous? Would it hurt?
But in the end there was a lot of support!
Read the summer post, when Noddy and Bandy disappeared-for months, waiting for their procedure.
Warning! Photos of dolls with their heads off!
No dolls were harmed during this process. I am happy to say that the procedure worked well, although I had to use a firm hand to get those heads off! And back on! Tense moments...
In the end I did use a hair dryer to warm and soften the necks. The girls were tired of me waiting for me to find the heating pad. They were missing out on the action in Dolltown. Just in time for the winter shoot and the business trip to The City!
Notice the boots! (No other way to see the change...)
Bandy is wearing the cute black cord jacket this year. Noddy is wearing a woolen trench from the bjd boys. Cute!
And you can see the boots on each- Noddy's flat round toed lace ups, and Bandy is now wearing the animal print high heels.
The girls are both happy!
The Ellowynes had a business meet up in The City.
The Ellowynes love to set up start-up businesses in both Dolltown and The City. All the girls have skills they use to coordinate interesting and creative start-ups.
They are all working on a big project with Lee, something about bottled water with its own bottle recycling process.
Some of the girls planned the next steps to bring Dolltown Valley's honey and artisan popcorn to street fairs.
Several chose outfits for The City's upcoming fashion week.
And some decided who to invite to the Dolltown Spring Start-Up, set up to encourage young entrepreneurs.
And they all enjoyed a night out in The City!
Tonner guy, Eddie, spends time with Willow. What guy wouldn't want to? She's very beautiful.
But all the Ellowynes are beautiful!
Still, for Eddie, it's this one...
Goldie and Tonner's Peter Parker, our Knox, have come from The City for the photo shoot.
(See Jan blog post.)
They brought dresses with them for all the girls to wear.
We want to keep some in Dolltown. The Ellowynes love new clothes!
Tonner's Harry Potter, our Wiz lives in Dolltown.
But this is the first time he has seen this Ellowyne Amber blue eyed beauty.
She is wearing the softest Monique Bubbles wig. Everyone wants to run their fingers through her hair and stroke it.
Wiz is wondering, how long do you have to know a girl before you can pet her head like a cat?
We'll get back to you on that, Wiz...
And when did Wiz become a lady's man, cutting in on his buddy Eddie like that?
What's up, Wiz?
We notice Eddie turned you down, flat.
Go get your own girl....
Wiz! Get a grip on yourself!
We all want to see you happy, but this relationship stuff just gets confusing...
What about Honey?
I was just dancing!
Once again we are forced to address relationship issues, when It had more to do with 3 long dresses, on 3 of the Ellowynes, and only 3 boys, er, man dolls.
These lads have to serve double, triple duty here in Dolltown. So many girls!
And that's just for photo shoots...
What about after hours, when the humans have gone to bed?
Get along, I say to them. Every night.
And they all seem fine in the morning.
I think. It's hard to tell...
The Ellowynes, all three sculpts, were invited to do a photo shoot in their best dresses last June.
In the Ballroom, where Dolltown holds its dances, and dance lessons!
While January winter days take their sweet time going by, we revisited the photos. Nice! Sharing...
Oksana came late to the shoot, but got a few photos in on her own.
Bright turquoise eyes!
More photos coming of the individual photos from the Ballroom shoot.
Check on the Start Ups page soon!
Ana asked Noddy what they were up to...
After the Ellowyne's were done, and the Tonner guys had a dance or two with them, the children took over the Ballroom.
Fun! Photo slide story coming soon.
With Lula! Before she left for Australia in November...
Willow here, who scooped the Monique May wig last spring, has passed it on to Little Darling Faith.
We'll see Willow in a short blond wig over on the Gallery...
This is a lovely wig that is not made anymore. Why?
Elena, our Yelena, is our Ellowyne elder.
I understand she was a Basic, made in 2006, the first year the Ellowynes came out, created by Robert Tonner.
She had long dark curly hair which I guess was cut right off. But I love this silky straight black wig on her....
Noddy's Dolltown buddies are expecting her to show up at the cafe for Happy Hour.
However, she is not likely to show up. I saw her in the Dolltown First Aid Station myself, huddled naked under a quilt. She's been there for a couple of days, no procedure yet.
Noddy and her friend, Bandy, are actually still waiting for a heating pad. A blow dryer was suggested, but the girls opted for the longer wait time and, apparently, a shorter procedure. As the doll fixer, I am...procrastinating. Letting time go by before I ask the neighbors for the doll fixing equipment necessary. I have been asking overnight guests if they have brought a heating pad. Nobody travels with them. Lucky for me.
Of course, I want to accommodate Noddy's wishes...
Noddy wants to wear "normal" shoes, like Soft Mocs and Birkenstocks. And her friend, Bandy, wants to go into the modeling business. And wants to trade out her stained body for Noddy's spotless high heeled body.
Dolls show their age, or misuse, in unusual ways, like possible black stain marks from too much dark clothing. And a Goth stage was deadly, and I guess this particular Prudence, Bandy, was too lazy to wear a body stocking. Or perhaps it was her last owner who was too.... (Sorry. Just a little bitter. How do I know she had a Goth stage? The clothes she arrived in.) For those black stains, soap and water, or even acetone free nail polish remover, just doesn't work. So Noddy's friend wants a whole new body.
And Noddy could care less about the stains. She just wants out of the whole high heeled thing. It just does not work for her. It's a perfect trade. I was happy to negotiate the whole thing. Now I just have to get happy with the switching heads part. Novice. :)
Noddy and Bandy have been secretly talking about this for months...even I didn't know. It wasn't until Bandy came to me complaining about her chances in the big city, sporting suede flats. I didn't approve right away, as you can imagine. but my girls have their own lives to live. (Wha?)
So I started my research....
Just so you know who we are talking about.
Noddy has been keeping a low profile, tired of wearing high heels. She is looking forward to wearing the pants and leather jacket that ended up being too small for the muscled bjd boys...with some nice black loafers. It's time for a change.
Bandy is moving to the city to do some modeling. She has been told that they like her smooth sculpt, her slanted eyes, and her long shiny hair. But she has also been told that her feet and her consequent wearing of casual flats is not good for her business. So she is going under the heating pad and hoping for a more glamorous look. She is excited.
