In Dolltown, friendship is important. Dolltown began because we decided to acquire friends for our vintage singletons! Some of our vintage were pairs, so they already had friends... two Dee an Cee Cindy dolls two Dee an Cee Drink and Wet babies But several did not.... one Terri Lee one Barbie one Dee an Cee child... I figured that all our dolls ought to have friends. So as the Dolltown characters started to arrive, they each naturally paired up with like minded others, or others in the same...

Doll collecting! For some, that means once you have a doll, pristine and new (or even second hand), that means all you have to do is find a dark space with no dust. No dress changes. No accommodating seasonal weather. No photo adventure shoots requiring jeans and a Tshirt.... But for some of us, collecting dolls means that almost every doll gets clothes, clothes for spring, summer, fall, and winter. At least for those of us in four season climates. And the dolls need some special outfits, like...

My vintage Barbie needed a friend.... This is the Barbie couple that I chose to keep her company... Liz Taylor and Clark Gable! How could I resist...they are beautiful! Friends for my bubble haired Moana, and memories of great movies. Especially Gone With the Wind. I also have 5 modern day Barbies...young ones. Beach blonde ones. Brunettes... You can pick Barbies up for a song. I bought a couple just for the outfits, which doesn't work yet with me...buying a doll for the clothes. I can't seem...

UFDC 2014 Ana cloned from this original... Last year Dianna Effner created a Little Darling doll to honor the First Nations. The theme was "Shared Passions". The factory paint doll is still available on the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) website. This dolly was shipped back and forth from China until the company, who made a number of the dolls in a limited edition, had all the details right, to Dianna's satisfaction. Ana is a lovely doll and this original is a beauty. She looks a lot...

They came with names, most of them. Then I gave them names myself, when I got them, most of them. And some of them have had their names changed since then. For a variety of reasons. This is an Iplehouse "Tania" sculpt. You can find her by googling this name. You can choose her skin color, and levels of movement you want her to have, and her face-up, if you actually order her. And you can choose her hair and eyes once you have her. And those things can change the name you think she should have....

This doll, Mirai, came to mind when one of my readers, okay, my one reader, told me he is thinking of beginning his own doll collection but doesn't know where to start. (I hope he has a good job. If not, he could start by printing off a picture, haha...Listen, that IS the beginning of a doll collection. Dollheads like us DO have pictures of dolls on our walls. Haven't you noticed?... "Dollheads"? Is that a thing? ...It is now!) Mirai is a VERY well known doll in Japan. It is so famous and...

I am a doll photographer and collector and Suzy, my next door neighbor is a quilter-extraordinaire... It was only a matter of time before I made a request of her. I wanted a cute little quilt, made from my children's childhood fabrics, for my dolls to picnic on. This is one side of my new beautiful, reversible, 18" doll quilt. It was hard for me to choose between my favorite fabrics, full of memories. So Suzy suggested a red side and a pink side, solving my dilemma. And she brought out her fat...
